Your boudoir questions answered

You think boudoir means stiff poses in lingerie? I think not.

Your experience will be unique to your own – no two photoshoots can be the same. I want you to know, the aim is a collaborative and supportive experience. It’s not about judgment or perfection; it’s about creating a safe space where you can feel comfortable, celebrated, and truly yourself.

While they can be sensual, it’s not about conforming to a “sexy” standard—it’s about capturing confidence, strength, and individuality. A great boudoir session is organic, playful, and tailored to your comfort level. It’s not about forcing stiff, unnatural poses—it’s about movement, emotion, and capturing your unique essence.

Lingerie is an option, not a requirement. Some women feel most confident in lace, while others feel empowered in a flowing gown, kimono, their favourite t-shirt, linen shirt or nothing at all. Boudoir is about what makes you feel good—not following a specific wardrobe rules.

Boudoir is for everyone, including those who are shy or introverted. It’s often the quietest, most reserved women who find the most transformation through the process. You don’t need to “be anything”— the experience will guide you.

Boudoir is for every body—every shape, size, age (18+), and stage of life. It’s about embracing and celebrating who you are right now, not striving for someone else’s idea of perfection. No matter your body type, you deserve to feel beautiful, confident, and seen. It’s a chance to connect with yourself on a deeper level, let go of self-doubt. The confidence you gain from a session often lasts far beyond the photos.

Firstly, I want to point out that there is no desire to photograph anyone in non flattering poses. However, posing isn’t about hiding; it’s about showcasing your natural beauty and helping you feel empowered. Boudoir isn’t about masking flaws—it’s about seeing yourself from a new perspective and appreciating your body for all it is, imperfections and all. In my booking questionnaire we dive deeper into body comfort and boundaries.

While boudoir can be a beautiful gift for a partner, it’s also a gift for yourself. It’s a celebration of femininity, a chance to reconnect with your body, and create a lasting memory of who you are in this moment.

Boudoir is about you, exactly as you are. You don’t need to wait for the “perfect” time or reach a certain weight—the best time is now, just as you are.

Most women have no experience in front of a camera, and that’s completely fine. It’s my job as your photographer to guide you through every step—showing you poses, adjusting angles, and making you feel at ease so you look and feel your best.

Once you’ve decided to move forward, you’ll receive a booking email that includes an invoice for the session fee, as well as any additional costs for a makeup artist (MUA) and/or hired space, which are payable at the time of booking. Alongside this, you’ll receive a questionnaire and contract to complete, helping us plan every detail of your session.

Our consultation call is a key part of the process, giving us the opportunity to discuss your vision, style, and comfort level. This is where we’ll explore ideas for your wardrobe, any other preparations, as well as selecting the perfect location for your shoot.

A short film is an optional add-on to a boudoir session. Video adds new dimension to your session, celebrating this experience. This service delivers a short film made from short clips from our time together, set to music. Price upon request.

To help guide your boudoir session, you’ll receive a detailed questionnaire that gives us insight into the style and direction you’d like to take. We’ll explore this further during your consultation call, where we’ll discuss your preferences and vision in more detail. You’ll also receive my Boudoir Guide, packed with tips on beauty preparation, outfit ideas, and inspiration for the shoot. Creating a visual moodboard can be a great way to understand and explore your preferences.

Your professional hair and makeup artist will also have all the relevant details ahead of time, ensuring that every element is aligned with your preferences.

All this preparation in place ensures seamless, empowering experience from start to finish.

A boudoir session typically lasts around 90 minutes, with your hair and makeup taking just over an hour beforehand. During this time, we’ll have the chance to chat, get to know each other, and create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere so you’re feeling at ease before we start capturing your beautiful photos.

After your photoshoot, I will edit each photo individually and with care.

My retouching style is rooted in a “less is more” approach, keeping the final images natural and authentic to you. Temporary imperfections like blemishes, bruises or scratches are gently removed, while features unique to you—such as birthmarks, beauty spots, tattoos, or piercings—are preserved. Stretch marks and natural skin folds are celebrated as part of your story, not something to be removed. However, if there are specific areas of your body you feel unsure about, please don’t hesitate to speak with me before your session – my questionnaire touches upon body comfort so please make sure you express your concerns. Any additional retouching requests that are not discussed prior to the photoshoot may incur an extra charge for the additional time required. My priority is to ensure you feel confident, comfortable, and truly empowered throughout the entire process.

Your digital images will be available for a download within 1-3 weeks from your order date. All printed products can be personally collected or will be posted to you once they’ve been processed.

Your privacy and comfort are of utmost importance to me. All sessions are handled with complete confidentiality and respect. Images are securely stored and will never be shared publicly without your explicit written consent. After viewing your images, a consent form will be sent to you, allowing you to pick and choose if any or some of your images can be shared. These could be featured not only on social media but also on my website, guides, and other materials. While I respect everyone’s right to privacy, sharing select photos from sessions is greatly appreciated and helps me build and grow this part of my new service.

Regarding cancellations, session fees, as well as fees for hired spaces (ie hotel room) and makeup artists, are non-refundable due to the time and resources reserved specifically for your booking. However, I understand that life happens, and we can reschedule. Any rescheduling must comply with the policies of third-party vendors, such as venues or makeup artists and loss of fee may occur. My goal is to ensure your experience is stress-free and supported from start to finish.

If you have any questions, big or small, don’t hesitate to reach out – I’m here to help and guide you every step of the way.

And please know that you don’t need to be “ready” for this experience – you are already perfect just as you are.
