An exploration of the meeting points between land and water, where forms shift, dissolve and reappear. Each piece considers estuaries, tidal edges and dune habitats and how these places are shaped by light, movement and tide.

Created through a blend of layered photography by Petra Blacklock and painterly processes by Claire Hankey, each work evolves gradually, much like the landscapes that inspire them. Movement is central to the collection: the steady pull of the current, the glide and the gentle rhythm of drifting on open water. Through these tactile, mixed-media techniques, textures emerge that suggest erosion over time and the quiet treasures revealed after each tidal cycle.

The Gathered Collection features natural elements we personally collected, fragments from the shoreline that carry the memory of real experiences of where the river meets the sea.
