Haven’t thought about it until baby is already here? No worries at all, just get in touch and ask about my current availability and I try my best to find suitable date and time.

Babies rarely arrive on their due date and that’s completely fine. I have your EDD in my diary and I’ll be patiently waiting for your message. Once baby is here and you’re ready, we’ll find the most convenient date together. One suggestion: try not to overbook yourself on the day. Sessions can be tiring for both baby and you, and you deserve to enjoy it.

Please let me know as soon as possible and we’ll find an alternative date. 

Mostly, my lifestyle newborn sessions happen in your home wherever the best natural light is on the day. If the weather is kind and you have a garden, we can step outside too for a change of scenery and some lovely natural light. 

Any room with good natural light (a window or French doors) is genuinely all we need. Most clients choose their master bedroom, nursery or lounge as it’s comfortable with seating. When I arrive we can have a look around together to find the best corner with the best light. I’d like to add that your home doesn’t need to be anything other than your home. No spring cleaning required however if you’d hate clutter in your photos, just shift it to the side. I’m not there for a house tour.

Usually between one and two hours, but I never rush. If baby needs feeding, settling or just a cuddle in between, we work around that. The session is led entirely by your baby and there’s nowhere else I need to be.

A plain vest is a good choice so we see their tiny hands and feet. A cute romper or knitted outfit works beautifully too, just make sure it fits their actual size rather than the size they’re growing into. For some shots, just a nappy or wrapped in a soft blanket makes for the most minimalistic and timeless photographs.

Comfort is the most important thing. We can chat about outfit choices over email or on a call if you’d like some guidance. As a general rule, complementing each other with colours and styles avoids clashes. Earth tones, soft neutrals and linens always work beautifully. Wear something you feel good in.

For siblings, I love when their little personalities shine through. If they have a favourite outfit or happen to be going through a costume phase (and who isn’t at some point), we can always do a quick change towards the end for a few photos that capture exactly who they are right now. Keeping it a surprise might be essential (depending on their age), mentioning it beforehand might spark some very strong opinions about what they absolutely must wear for the entire session.

Absolutely and please never feel you need to stop or wait for me. Feeding is part of the session, not an interruption to it. And skin to skin contact makes for some of the most tender, intimate photographs of the whole shoot. These are the moments worth capturing.

Totally, furry siblings are very welcome for some fun and creative shots if they play.

At home sessions are relaxed and entirely baby-led. They don’t need to be asleep as lifestyle photoshoot is less about poses and more about connection and engagement. If they need a feed or a cuddle, they get what they need and we work around it. There’s no schedule to keep to and nothing to perform. 

I have three set digital collections which you can find in my pricing guide here. All images are delivered as high resolution files, edited in my natural style in both colour and black and white. Additional images can be purchased individually as framed prints or as part of an album. My collections are transparent and set because I like to be fair to all my clients.

Natural which means real skin tones, real colours. Babies are naturally quite pink/red and while I edit to true colours I gently tone down redness to complement your skin tones. Any scratches or baby acne I remove, but I keep skin texture, birthmarks and the occasional flake because that’s real and beautiful. I won’t leave you with a spot on your nose either, blemishes are removed, skin is softened slightly for a fresh feel and under eyes brightened where needed (that one’s for the mums navigating sleepless nights). Every image gets individual attention. I don’t use presets that alter colour tones.

I aim to have your preview gallery ready within a week of your shoot. Once you’ve finalised your order, your edited images will be ready to download within one to two weeks depending on the season. Prints are batch ordered at the end of each month from a professional UK lab and I’ll let you know as soon as they arrive and you’re welcome to collect or I can post them to you. If you’d like a couple of images for thank you cards, just let me know when finalising your order and I’ll send those over at the earliest opportunity.
