We can chat about outfit choices over email or on a call if you’re unsure. As a rule of thumb, complementing each other with style and colours avoids clashes. Most importantly, wear something you feel good and comfortable in. Confidence comes from comfort. Although this blog post is about Autumnal photoshoots, you may find it helpful.

Most family sessions are outdoors. We have beautiful locations on our doorstep: the beach at Westcliff, Thorpe Bay or East Beach, Two Tree Island, Belfairs or Hockley Woods, Hadleigh Castle, Priory Park, Blenheim Park and many more. I love discovering new spots and am always happy to travel to your favourite place (a small travel charge may apply).

Your home is also a wonderful option, particularly for smaller children, babies and sitters or when the weather is still cool or wet outside. All I need is good natural light and a garden works well too.

I don’t hold any expectations of your children other than being themselves, that’s exactly what I’m there to capture. I work through their natural curiosity and desire to join in, suggesting fun activities and games that draw them in without pressure. My approach is entirely child-led and I always strive for a stress-free, happy and safe experience for everyone.

Life happens and if you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 48 hours before your shoot where possible.

If it rains, we’ll find another suitable date. Overcast is never a problem. It actually gives us more freedom to shoot from different angles. I keep a close eye on forecasts but never cancel until the morning of the photoshoot, because forecasts don’t always manifest.

I have three set digital collections which you can find in my pricing guide here. All images are delivered as high resolution files, edited in my natural style in both colour and black and white. Additional images can be purchased individually as framed prints or as part of an album. My collections are transparent and set because I like to be fair to all my clients.

My editing is natural with real skin tones, real colours. I won’t leave you with a spot on your nose or a bruise on your children’s knees, but I will keep all permanent features like freckles, moles and stretch marks unless you’d prefer otherwise. I remove blemishes, soften skin texture slightly for a fresh feel and brighten under eyes where needed (that one’s for the mums navigating sleepless nights). Every image gets individual attention. I don’t use presets that alter colour tones.

I aim to have your preview gallery ready within a week of your shoot. Once you’ve finalised your order I edit all your images individually and your download will be ready within one to two weeks depending on the season. Prints are batch ordered at the end of each month from a professional UK lab. I’ll let you know as soon as they arrive and you’re welcome to collect or I can post them to you within a few days of receiving them.
